1971 Kawasaki G4TR 100 Trailboss #01 VIN# G4-028806 Candy Red
I bought this bike with only 170 miles on the odometer. The story goes that the original owner drove it a bit and then fell over in the mud….cleaned it up and put it away. A divorce ensued and the wife kept the bike. She retained ownership until 2002. It was easy to tell that the mileage on the bike was accurate, but it also had 30+ years of sitting still wear on it. The gas tank was rusty from no gas and most of the cheap Japanese bolts/screws/washers were showing surface rust. I drove the bike about 7 miles and it really ran well. The front fork seals were shot and it was leaking pretty badly. I decided to take it apart just a little bit and clean up the bolts etc. After a couple of hours in the garage, all I was left with was a frame. So I did it right and just cleaned and refurbished all the original parts. The bike went back together beautifully and it belongs in a museum. See the pictures for more details.
