System Installation
Go to the bottom for weight
comparisons.
Here are the original rear
discs inside the 20" SVT Rim.

The original Brembo front
setup inside the 19" SVT Rim.

Original rear rotor and
caliper.

Original front rotor and
caliper.

The new Baer Extreme Plus
rotors.

Here is the rear emergency
brake setup. The flanges hold the brake shoes as well
as the mounts for the calipers.

This bolt comes off from
the front strut and this is where the new supplied front
brake line will bolt on.

Here is the new Baer
Extreme Plus 6 piston one piece caliper.

Front rotor comparison.

New for 2011 GT500 is the
front brake backing plate with ventilation holes. For
clearance on the rotors you have to clearance the plate up
against where the caliper bolts on and as well you have to
bend the plate back a bit to keep it from rubbing on the
rotor.

Here is a picture of the
plate before clearance cuts.

And here it is afterwards.
Cut the metal, finish it out and paint it black.

First trial fit of
everything on the front.

Here is the front brake
line showing the routing of the ABS sensor wire zip tied to
the brake line.

This small plastic panel on
the drivers side had to be clearanced a very tiny bit to
clear the brake line bracket.

Here is is after the cut.

Here is a nice item
supplied by Baer. Basically it is a stopper for brake
fluid from the supply line so you don't lose all the fluid
while you are installing the setup.

Front caliper mount.

On the rear in order to
remove the rear differential cover, it was necessary to
remove the panhard rod. Take this bolt out.

Then remove the bottom bolt
on the passenger side. Then loosen the top bolt.

Slide the panhard rod out
the passenger side.

After you remove the rear
differential housing cover, you remove the c-clips for the axles
and remove so that you can get rid of the original backing
plates and anti-groan brackets. The breather tube for
the rear end has been moved to the top of the diff cover.
Once you take the cover off you can see the baffle and as
well, you can see the groove cut into the inside flange
where Ford might have intended to use a rubber membrane type
gasket. This one was put back together using FelPro-Ultra-Black.

New Rear brake line.

Rear brakes.

Rear wheels had to use a
1/8" spacer as the calipers came in contact with the inside
of the wheel spokes.

Fronts go on without any
spacers.

What a difference a day
makes.

And especially on the rear.
